TeleClinic is a service platform for patients and doctors that, among other things, provides access to medical video consultations via an external certified video module. TeleClinic itself is not a healthcare provider, in particular not a doctor, MVZ or pharmacy.
After telemedical treatment has been carried out, doctors can issue electronic prescriptions (including statutory health insurance prescriptions, private prescriptions, recommended prescriptions) via TeleClinic in accordance with the applicable legal requirements and legal framework. Patients can redeem prescribed prescriptions at the pharmacy of their choice. Electronic private prescriptions must be paid for in full by the patient themselves. Privately insured patients can submit them for reimbursement.
According to the professional code of conduct for doctors, doctors in Germany provide advice in person. They can use communication media to support this. Using the external certified video module, exclusive advice or treatment via communication media is only possible in individual cases if this is medically justifiable and the necessary medical care is ensured, in particular through the manner of diagnosis, advice, treatment and documentation, and the patient is also informed about the special features of exclusive advice and treatment via communication media. TeleClinic uses its platform to support contact between patients and their existing treating doctors on site and, where justifiable in individual cases, also with treating doctors within the framework of telemedicine. The medical treatments announced on TeleClinic via telecommunications do not refer to blanket and comprehensive remote treatment per se, but specifically to certain illnesses and symptoms if, according to generally accepted professional standards, personal medical contact with the person being treated is not necessary.
